Your first horse ride in Dubai
Start with the right riding level, a clear price and the confirmed meeting point. Here are the answers to check before your first lesson or social ride.
Should I book a lesson or a social ride?
Choose a coached arena lesson if you want to learn the basics and build riding skills. Choose a guided social ride if you want a group experience, after checking that its route and riding level suit you. Being new to riding does not mean every outdoor route is suitable.
Can I come alone?
Yes, you can book one place on a social ride. You join a group rather than booking a private experience. Let the team know it is your first time; you do not need to bring a friend or own a horse.
What should I wear?
Wear comfortable long trousers and secure closed-toe footwear. Avoid sandals and clothing or jewellery that could catch on equipment. Check the chosen stable’s footwear requirements before buying gear, and follow the instructor’s equipment guidance. Social rides include a helmet and safety equipment.
What happens when I arrive?
Use the confirmed meeting instructions and arrive 30 minutes before your social ride. Tell the guide about your experience and any concerns. Listen to the briefing, ask for help and follow the guide’s instructions on pace and phone use. Check your lesson confirmation for its arrival instructions.
How much should I budget?
A single group lesson starts at AED 199 plus fees. Sunrise Social is AED 249 per rider plus fees; other social rides have their own prices and inclusions. Compare the pricing page and review the final total before paying.
What if I feel nervous or need to stop?
Tell the instructor before you start and immediately if you feel uncomfortable during the session. The team can discuss suitable starting options. Do not assume you need to trot or canter on your first ride.
Is there a weight or age limit?
Ask the team to confirm the requirements for your rider and chosen session before booking. Suitability depends on the horse, rider, activity and stable assessment; a general percentage rule cannot confirm whether a particular ride is suitable.
Where do I go and what if plans change?
Use the meeting point in your confirmation or My Bookings, not the Business Bay office or an approximate map. Check the current date-change and cancellation conditions. Confirm availability and timing for your date, especially during hotter weather.
