The golden hour, from the saddle
Sunset Horse Riding in Dubai
Dubai looks different from a saddle at golden hour. This is a practical guide to how guided sunset rides work — written by Social Saddles DXB, the club that runs them every week.

Why sunset is the hour that matters
Dubai’s desert light peaks twice a day, and the evening window is the kinder one: the heat breaks, the sand turns gold, and the ride ends in the best photographs you will take here. That is why the club’s flagship ride — the Sunday Sunset Social Ride — is built entirely around that hour.
Timing shifts slightly with the seasons to catch the best light. The riding itself is guided and paced for the group, so first-timers and returning riders share the same track comfortably.
Do you need experience?
No. Most Social Saddles members rode a horse for the first time with the club. A professional instructor is on every session, horses are matched to each rider’s comfort level, and the pace stays gentle — a relaxed walk or light trot with the guide alongside.
Helmets and all safety equipment are provided. Wear long trousers and closed shoes; there is no need to buy riding gear for a first ride.
What a sunset social ride includes
The evening runs a few hours in total: arrive, meet the group, get your helmet and safety briefing, ride out, then stay for the food and the conversation. The meet-up location is confirmed on WhatsApp at checkout.
- A guided group ride of roughly an hour through desert scenery at golden hour
- Professional instruction and full safety equipment
- Dinner and seasonal refreshments after the ride
- Social time with the group — the club half of the club
- Ride photos delivered to you on WhatsApp afterwards
How to book
Start at the experiences page, pick a ride, and book online — the waiver is signed in the same flow, payment runs through a UAE-regulated gateway, and WhatsApp confirms your meet-up details before the ride. Current dates are on the schedule.
